Boyfriend Trainer - The App

Yes, you read that right. So, I'm cruising the net and I find this article on Yahoo's Plugged In, about a new app on the market - The Boyfriend Trainer, by Games2Win - a Mumbai-based company.

I had to know more about this Pseudo-Sadistic and controversial app. Naturally, I had to buy it and see it for myself.....

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. The idea of a "Boyfriend Trainer" is pretty ludicrous. You can't "train" men in my opinion. You CAN however set expectations of what you value in the relationship and what you won't tolerate.

Now that we've got that out the way, here are some of the things I found most interesting about the app.

One, I don't approve of these outfits. Baby blue dress with matching pumps? Blech.
The guy's outfit is no better, especially since he looks like he's going somewhere colder, but decided matching didn't keep him warm.

Second, The app is based off of "lessons".
For example, Lesson 1 is "Girlfriends don't like their boyfriends to look at other girls. About time he got the message. Slap him silly!"
You're then brought to the game where you're instructed to tap really quickly when he does something wrong. Depending on the lesson you get to smack him, electrify/zap him, or something more violent.

In both of these example lessons to the right, men are seemingly the anti-christ who can only be saved by having the pleasure of being disciplined by women in ugly tight outfits. Okay maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, but I just didn't know it was okay to smack a guy or taze him because he was messy or changed the channel.

On a different level, one could be slightly offended by this portrayal of what appears to be Americans, in this Mumbai-based video game.

So now you might be asking yourself, how would you even lose in this game if it's all about training your man? The most interesting thing about this app, is that there is a time limit for when you are able to discipline your man.
When you are in one of the lessons, and you do not choke him RIGHT at the second he does something wrong, like check out another girl, you will lose one life/heart (you only get three) and the game will tell you "Don't whack him when he doesn't deserve it! You man needs his space".
Oh okay, so he deserves violence when he leaves clothes on the ground or touches your red wine, but if you tap or tell him a milli-second after it's already happened, he doesn't deserve it anymore, and you should get a life. What?!  Fail, Games2Win. Major Fail.
